In 2025, it will be one hundred years since the minting of the five-crown coin, another denomination of the Czechoslovak interwar currency. The Kremnica Mint commemorates this milestone by minting gold, silver and brass medals. It began minting at the Kremnica Mint in 1925 and was intended to replace the original paper version of the currency. The five-crown design by Otto Gutfreund was used not only on nickel-plated crowns in 1925–1927, but also on silver five-crowns in 1937–1938. The five-crown began minting on May 26, 1925. Initially, even minor adjustments were necessary, but from June 1925, serial minting of the new coin continued.
